We had to eat our cake, and we HAD to have a cake fight, because Kyle was well behaved the first time we cut the cake. It was everywhere...up our noses, on the walls, all over the floor. You name it, cake was there. All I can think is how lucky I am to be in love and married to my best friend.

one year

One year ago today we said "I do." Time goes by so quickly. This first year has been full of adventure, growing, learning, and enjoying each day. It was not all simple, or easy, and there were difficult days. Looking back though, the good far out shadows the bad. So many times we get caught up in the excitement of the future and what life holds next for us. Maybe that's how most people get to a certain point in life, turn around, and realize they missed it all. We are trying to live life as it comes. To enjoy and be thankful for every moment we have. We have been so incredibly blessed in this first year as husband and wife. It is funny to think that on this day one year ago I had dinosaurs in my stomach, and Kyle was so nervous he couldn't stop laughing. That day was indescribable. The range of emotions we went through were so wide spread. I remember the feelings, but so much about that day was a blur for both of us. Luckily we got it on tape! Someday, when we are old and grey, we will be able to watch the day we started on this amazing journey. For now, we are just excited to be celebrating one year, and the many more to come.

Oregon Coast

We just spent an incredible week on the beautiful Oregon coast with our family. It was so much fun and so good to spend time with everyone. We already miss it...back to life in Pullman and on to our second year of marriage!

Kamiak Butte

Today we hiked Kamiak Butte with our neighbors, Taryn and Steve. It was a perfect afternoon for it, and we had a lot of fun. Kyle kept calling it a "butt" and though he would never admit it, a part of me thinks he really thought that was how you say it! That is not how it is pronounced, but hopefully everyone knows this. We did the 3.5 mile loop...we think. We sort of just hiked and at some points blazed our own trail. Taryn and I enjoyed taking pictures, but the boys weren't loving it too much. They were good sports though, we have to at least give them that.
